One of my favorite real life characters from the Old West is William Barclay "BAT" Masterson.  He was well known as a Gunfighter as well as a gambler, Buffalo Hunter, U.S. Marshall and Army Scout.  He was friends with Wyatt Earp and served with Earp on the "Dodge City Peace Commission."  Naturally he was involved in many shootouts and because of his quick draw and survival instincts, "BAT" always came out on top.

This is an environment concept I spent some time on last weekend.  I have yet to flush out the left side of the landscape although it will be darker and more in the shadows.  I am trying to add more environments to my portfolio in multiple styles and I have a few others I am working on at the moment.  Although I love character concept production I can create environment concepts as well.

This is an environment concept from a little while back and I finally got a couple spare hours last night to add some detail work to the concept.  I will add some more subtle details to the background so the mountains and cliffs are not flat.  I just wanted to post an update.

This is a Style Guide for the Ljosalfar Light Elf race I created for "Project Copernicus" for 38 Studios.  These designs were posted on the "Kingdoms of Amalur" website.  I worked with many artist to create style guides for each of the playable races in "Copernicus."  Mostly, I worked with Scott Duquette who is a fantastic concept and production artist.  We created the style guides early in the project.

This is a character that I designed for "Project Copernicus."  He is part of a giant insect race called the Myrmidon.  This concept was designed over the skeleton and anatomy of an earlier concept I created while working on "Copernicus."  The initial design for this skeletal anatomy type was a centaur spider creature.  We would often share skeletons and try to give the skin and dimensions a whole new look so they did not appear too similar.
